Amsterdam

This is a great time to visit Amsterdam, especially if you admire Rembrandt’s art. 2006 is Rembrandt’s 400th anniversary and this will be celebrated with numerous Rembrandt-related events in Holland.

Maastricht, the oldest town in the Netherlands, will once again host TEFAF Maastricht this year. TEFAF stands for: The European Fine Art Foundation.

Amsterdam has a lot of world-famous museums, such as:

  • The Royal Palace: Located on Dam Square in Central Amsterdam. (built in the 17 century)

  • Stedelijk Museum: Various, modern art of after 1968.

  • Rijksmuseum: You can view the Night Watch. This museum will feature other Rembrandt’s work most of the year but also art from many other artist, such as Vermeer, Frans Hals and many more.
