SAN FRANCISCO

Do you know another great way to see the San Francisco Bay area: “San Francisco at Sunset”. We all know San Francisco has great restaurants and night spots and I would like to share 5 great outdoor spots to keep you fit even when the sun goes down.

1. Point Bonita Light:

The interpretive walk led by a National Park Ranger begins a half-hour before sunset and offers a spectacular view of the Bay and Pacific ocean.

Price: This tour is free.

For more information, you can call 415-331-1540 or check out the website: http://nps.gov/goga/

2. The next location I had in mind is the Two Twin Peaks:

It is one of the highest point in San Francisco. This is a self guided tour but the view is tremendous and is located in the center of the city.

For more information, you can call 415-831-2782 or check out the website: http://parks.sfgov.org/site/recpark_index.asp

3. How about stepping into a kayak:

Sea Trek offers three-hour tours. If you like the quite sound of the water after the wind dies down, watch the wild life come out and listen to the occasional bark from the seals, this tour is for you!

Price: It’s about $75.00

For more information, please contact Sea trek at 415-488-1000 or check out their website at http://seatrekkayak.com/

4. Another great location that I had in mind can only be taken a few day’s during the year. (from November through February.) It is Fort Point Civil War Era Fort underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Your guide will be a Fort Point Ranger and he will show you great views and history.

Price: This tour is free.

Just wanted you to know that the tours are once a month and restricted to 35 people, it’s a very popular tour so book early by calling 415-556-1693 or check out their website at http://www.nps.gov/fopo/  for more info.

5. Last but not least..., how about a bike ride through San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Sport and Social Club’s monthly full moon ride is a guided tour, you will see the shops and restaurants, the Embarcadero and some area parks, crossing the city to the Presidio, across the Golden Gate Bridge and back.

Price: $20.00

For more information, call 415-921-1161 or check out their website at http://playinthebay.com/
